The hostess with mostest. Mary K Mart opened her drag doors 6 years ago with “Trailer Park Prize Night” at Flex. This one woman show quickly became the hit of the triangle. Thus began the touring show by the same name featuring Mary, Winnie Baygo and Tequilla Rose. The group began to produce commercials aired throughout the night at Flex and eventually decided to embark upon a movie making career. The amazing outcome: “CAMP the Movie” coauthored and starring Mary K Mart the film was a hit at the NC Gay and Lesbian Film Festival and promises to be well received this summer at the Philadelphia Gay and Lesbian Film Festival as well.
Mary has been a resident of the Triangle for the past twelve years and is a native of West Virginia – where she claims to have, “learned all there is to know about trailer park drag!” Needless to say, we are glad she is here with us now! This amazing woman and showman is a welcome addition to the scene in the Triangle. She IS Drag Bingo. “This epidemic affects us all,” says Mary K Mart, “We all know someone in our lives that is affected by the letters HIV.” And now Mary is onstage leading the fight! She asks us all to give our best and pledges to, “continue playing Drag Bingo until this plague is over!”
